There are not enough positive words to share about the AMAZING Alan Vasquez. Alan is more than proficient in all things school related, as well as a fabulous SAT & ACT tutor, but more importantly he connects with the kids. He understands how to engage them in a way that they can create their own success. His relationship with them helps to build their self esteem not just in school but in life. I wish I would have found him sooner, my girls thrived having Alan as their tutor!!!!

Alan is hands down the most effective tutor we've had. In a matter of weeks he turned around my 9th grade son's Algebra and Spanish grades-- which has given him a whole new level of confidence in these subjects. Alan has an authentic way of connecting with his students and provides tricks and tools that help master new concepts. I'm not sure what we would do without Alan!

Alan is fantastic! The kids love working with him, he’s smart and funny and makes math fun. My youngest son has an A in math on his report card for the first time and it’s become his favorite subject. Thank you Alan!

This is the best tutor my kids have ever worked with! Went from getting D’s to literally A’s in 3 weeks! Teacher messaged me last year, "I don’t know what you changed, but whatever you did please keep it up." -- It was our tutor. (530) 559-6488 Alan - Tutor On A Scooter!

We've been working with Alan for years--first with my high school student for excellent ACT prep and now with my 8th grader on math. He has a gift for making learning fun across many subjects. Highest recommendation!

We love Alan! He comes every session with a smile on his face and makes studying math fun! He has a great method of explaining concepts and is able to break down problems into simple steps that are easy to understand. My math grade is constantly improving with Alan’s help! He is awesome!!!

Alan has been tutoring our son for the past year and a half. We were referred to Alan when our son was struggling in geometry last year. Per usual our sophomore was not excited about having a tutor as we’ve had others in the past. Alan walked in with a big smile coupled with a big white erase board and went to work. He went above and beyond even speaking with our sons math teacher to figure out where he was struggling. He now tutors him in Spanish and algebra 2 and tutored him through tough chemistry. The next step is ACT! I love Alan but more importantly our son enjoys his time with Alan and appreciates how effective he’s been and how helpful he is. I could go on and on!!! He really is the best!

Research shows that small, conscious shifts to our ways of thinking can improve how we view ourselves and how well we self-motivate.
Below are four exercises in 'positive cognitive framing.' If regularly practiced through conscious effort, these strategies can help students face personal & academic challenges from a more productive perspective.
Seek out what excites your interests.
Avoid blaming yourself for being human - there's no need. Rather, try to recognize what you can do differently to improve, without self-judgement. More importantly, strategize how you will do it differently.
Rethink failures as opportunities for learning.
See setbacks as potential growth experiences.
Let your passions and personal interests guide your learning, in life and in class.
It's your brain - take possession of it.
Focus on positive goals and visualize them happening.
3
Talk yourself through the steps as you imagine yourself working toward and reaching your goals; congratulate yourself when you accomplish something and remember the feeling.

Welcome support from others
Open yourself to constructive feedback and external accountability to promote continued growth
